Phoebe Kagumba-Sibanda

Secretary

Phoebe Kagumba-Sibanda is a dedicated leader within the Kenyan Community in Ontario (KCO), serving as Secretary on the Board of Directors. Her commitment to community leadership includes roles as Elections Commissioner, Chief Returning Officer, and a key figure as a member of KCO’s Interim Committee, in KCO’s revitalization in 2022. Her dedication extends to youth empowerment, as she initiated the Kenya Community High School Forum and KCO Young Adults Forum in 2023, creating spaces for youth mentorship and engagement. Beyond KCO, Phoebe has made a significant impact through Lions Clubs International, serving

three terms as President of the Mississauga Cooksville Lions Club. She has led numerous outreach projects supporting underserved communities, including symposiums addressing mental health. As the outgoing District Global Service Team (GST) Coordinator (2024-25), she is preparing to assume the role of 2nd Vice District Governor (2025-26). Phoebe’s community involvement also includes serving on the Community of Peel’s People Panel, helping allocate grants to nonprofit organizations. Recognized for her extensive service, she continues to inspire newcomers, particularly young people, to achieve greater success in Canada. An avid traveler, she enjoys exploring the world with her husband Dan, reading, swimming, connecting with individuals from diverse backgrounds and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She holds an MBA and a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, alongside multiple certifications, and works as an Application Operations Consultant at a major Canadian bank. A Certified Life and Executive Coach, Phoebe has mentored individuals in discovering their purpose and reaching their highest potential.
